Neal Shapiro is the President of Teamwork Specialties, Inc. He founded Teamwork Specialties to focus on the recruitment needs to match talented professionals with great organizations that provide services to those on the Autism spectrum.
Within the healthcare industry, as an executive and a consultant, Neal’s focus has been in business development, operations, and financial management; with a focus on improving quality and profitability, through innovative and practical solutions. Neal has over 20 years of experience in financial, operations, and sales management within the healthcare industry which include: physician group practices, physician practice management companies, academic medical centers, therapy service providers, outpatient rehabilitation centers, clinical trial research organizations, medical equipment manufacturers, and diagnostic service providers. In addition, he has a broad spectrum of knowledge in dealing with the various Federal agencies involved in healthcare; including the FDA; DHHS; and Congressional authorization and oversight committees.
He has been extensively involved in leading and assisting healthcare organizations in: managed care contract negotiations; capitation rate and reimbursement fee analysis; strategic planning to promote growth and control costs; advice and support for the selection and implementation of information systems; financial analysis of revenues, productivity, and various medical procedure and service lines; implementation of process and procedures improving medical group billing and collections; and, the preparation and review of the annual budgets of medical group practices.
As a strategy and financial consultant he has assisted several large physician groups analyze their options regarding their strategic and capital partners, resulting in over $100 million in successful funding transactions.
As a parent of an autistic child he is actively involved in the Autism community through raising awareness and supporting local/national initiatives. Neal serves on the Board of Directors for Autism Speaks South Florida Chapter and has chaired the Autism Speaks Broward Walk in 2007, 2014, and 2015. He serves on the Autism Advisory Board with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Neal is also active in the Broward County School District, serving on multiple committees with a dedicated focus helping to support special needs students.
